The municipality of Bilbao has sent to the Provincial Council of Zaragoza the projects that it intends to promote in the city with the PLUS Plan funds corresponding to 2022. The city receives 1,989,997 euros from this program that unifies all the aid and subsidies of this institution.
The main investments are destined to interventions that improve mobility and renovate areas that present a greater deterioration. “We intend to dedicate funds to renovating the main roads but we will also act in streets and squares of the old town of Bilbao, as well as other initiatives to boost our heritage,” explains the mayor, José Manuel Aranda, who has explained the projects presented at the Governing Board Local that has been held this morning in the Consistory.
The highest amount is 264,000 euros for the renovation of Plaza Gáldar, between Paseo Cortes de Aragón and calle Gáldar. The pavement and infrastructures of Plaza de la Jolea, Calle Bañuelo, Glen Ellyn, San Íñigo and the road in Plaza Darío Pérez will be changed.
In addition, the request to PLUS includes the regeneration of the old N-II crossing (Ramón y Cajal street in the section between Fernández Ardavín street and the access to the parking lot). The projects include repairs on the slope of Tarancón, the section of Pascual Marquina avenue will be renewed (from the roundabout to Sixto Celorrio) and work will be done on the accesses to CEIP Francisco de Goya.
These funds from DPZ will be used to develop a second phase of the videomapping that these days is being presented in the Church of San Pedro and to draw up a master plan for urban regeneration of the historical-artistic complex, as added by the Calatayud City Council.
