CFA Level-1

I am an IT engineer from Chennai starting my CFA prep for Dec, '09. I have no finance background and it seems tough but not impossible. Which is better to start - the CFA Institute books or Schweser's notes?

dude, I am also going in for CFA level 1 this dec. I found that CFA institute materials are very good and comprehensive. But at this point of time, u won't have the luxury of time (considering that you are working/studying). CFA level 1requires you to cover the whole syllabus more than getting into the concepts. From that prospective, Schweser notes are very good. Also CFA videos are good for getting a quick acquaintance of the topics.

I got it from one of my seniors. Try it on torrents. Otherwise IIT M is nearby ;)
