Why are you going to Sri Lanka? Kathmandu should be a centre as well.
Kathmandu is cheaper and doesn't require a visa.

The CFA Institute always tries to get a centre in Mumbai and may eventually succeed.:)

Another option is Bangkok. The Thailand visa costs Rs. 1400 and you can get cheap air tickets from AirAsia.com. Sometimes if you book early, you can get return tickets from India to Bangkok for Rs. 6000.

i am planning to start my preparation from now itself.
