    There are some associations/groups in India that you can join. It's easier to find such groups in US like ACG etc. There are some in India like Indian Association of Investment Professionals (IAIP) that can be useful. You may check the details at:

    Also try to find finance events in various B-schools in your city. Sometimes they allow non-students to attend.

    I am not sure if MBA colleges in India will allow others to attend their events. They will only allow students from their college and some other MBA colleges. But we can always try.

    Is Financial modeling can be done in Excel only..? There is no software available for this...?

    Some finance firms also use software like MATLAB and SAS. Many credit analysts use MATLAB as it is more powerful than Excel.
