    Re: AMFI certification

The AMFI website states that, "The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) is dedicated to developing the Indian Mutual Fund Industry on professional, healthy and ethical lines and to enhance and maintain standards in all areas with a view to protecting and promoting the interests of mutual funds and their unit holders."

Basically if you want to get into the Mutual Funds industry, this might be useful. You will be able to sell mutual funds after the certification. The securities and exchange board of india (SEBI) has made it compulsory for new agents selling mutual funds schemes to get themselves certified by the association of mutual funds of india(AMFI).

    Re: Actuaries Society of India

    Hi Ashish,

    Welcome back to DG's forum!
    You were missing for sometime.

Acturial jobs are not limited to insurance or reinsurance companies. Some consultancy firms, investment firms and banks also hire for such jobs. Even Government requires Actuaries for running Government insurance programs.

Some firms that hire Actuaries are: Towers Watson, PWC, Aon Consulting, Travelers, Liberty Mutual etc.
