CFA L3 Candidates

Hi All,

Has any of the L3 candidates started their preparation...? and can people also guide regarding the sponsorship for a society when we register for the L3 exam..

I have also registered for the Level 3...
I spoke to a CFA charterholder and he said that the sponsorship is not required now.
It'll be required for the charter later on.

The sponsorship is required for getting the charter. You'll need to find a sponsor who has a CFA charter. But don't need to worry about it till you pass the CFA Level 3 exam.

I think by asking for a sponsorship form, the CFA Institute "validates" your work experience. As mentioned in the above posts, one needs a sponsorship form filled to receive the charter. So, you can actually pass all three levels first, and then get the sponsorship form when applying for the charter/CFA membership. You need a supervisor who is a CFA chartholder fill out the form. I am not 100% certain but the supervisor does not have to be a direct one.

I have just opened the pack send by the CFA insititute. I have decided to read the CFA books and not from any other prep course provider. I have enough time and hopefully can build better concepts using the books from the CFA institute.

I am candidate for CFA L-3. Since this exam is subjective based and the CFAI material for L-3 is very vast. So is the study notes of schweser is enough for L-3? Looking forward for the suggestion & help.
